Solar energy will be the main source of power for lunar habitats. Nuclear energy will be used to store electricity and as an emergency backup when there is no solar power. A nuclear battery on an aerospace rocket could help a human habitat on the moon overcome the 354-hour lunar night, according to research. In the past few decades, all spacecraft have used this nuclear battery as a power source, which is not only safe and efficient, but also can provide a large amount of electricity demand while being small and strong adaptability to the harsh conditions of the environment. On the other hand, by combining the nuclear battery with the solar panel, the electricity captured by the solar panel can be stored in the battery, so you have a good electrical cycle, sunlight is transferred to the solar panel, the solar panel absorbs the electricity and stores some of it in the nuclear battery and some of it goes directly to the lunar habitat. On the other hand, living, research and planting on the moon require a lot of electric energy. Since the equatorial part of the moon has all-day sun irradiation, if solar panels can be installed near the equator, more electric energy can be absorbed to provide habitat life, research and planting. However, there are also problems such as the distance between the equator and the habitat, and how to transport them.
